Domains |
This Administrative Function enables assigned users with secure, limited access to job-related information defined by the Domain itself. •For example, a user assigned to a particular Domain may be restricted to 'Read-only' access to All Jobs in the full Jobs database, but have Administrator level Access (Add, Revise, Generate Job Evaluation Reports, etc.) for all jobs within the Domain.
•The value of developing Domains will enable organizations the opportunity to assign full, independent responsibility for job evaluation to a sub-set of jobs specifically domiciled to management personnel within an organizational structure, or to job evaluation sub committee’s charged with the responsibility of independently setting compensation levels for jobs within a particular Job Family or Job Group (e.g., developmental levels of Administrative Assistants, Engineers, etc.) .

A Domain is defined by a flexible set of criteria that can be as simple or as complex as you have a need for.
•On the simple end, a Domain could consist of two hand-picked Jobs.
•Another simple example is that a Domain may consist of all the Jobs within particular Organization Unit. This would allow you to set up a sub-admin who has admin access only to that Organization Unit’s Jobs.
•One scenario could involve a Domain that consists of all Jobs within a particular Job Group and a particular Work Unit.
•We support exclusions as well: A Domain may consist of all the Jobs within Job Families 1 and 2, but exclude all the Jobs assigned to Job Group 3.
•Compound Domains can also be created: oDomain A may be the same Domain described in the previous item. oDomain B could then consist of Jobs within at Location X. oDomain C may consist of all Jobs within Domains A and B: ▪Jobs in Job Families 1 and 2, except Job Group 3, and only ones that are also at Location X.
•Compound Domains can tack on their own criteria as well, and they might have only one child. For example, Domain D could consist of Domain C, but limited to Jobs assigned to Organization Unit Y.
