Competency Alignment Based on the theory that "perception is reality", people tend to emulate those traits and behaviours they see as being positively rewarded by decision makers within their organization. Hopefully what employees "perceive" to be important is in fact what the organization wants them to see as important. This Competency Alignment Survey is designed to get at that measure. The results are designed to visually identify alignment - or variance - in perceptions. The ultimate goal of tracking survey results over time is to ensure that perception and reality become the same thing. Only then can an organization be comfortable that they don't have well intended employees doing counter productive things, simply because of misaligned perceptions.
The Competency Alignment Survey is used to gather information and perceptions from the organization for use within the system. It asks people to rate a number of pre-defined competencies according to how important they feel the competencies are to the organization. Compiled results of this survey indicate how effectively corporate values, vision and culture have been communicated to, and understood by, the people associated with the organization.
The Competency Alignment Survey Results shows the results of the Competency Alignment Survey, displayed as a comparison between any Job Group in the organization and the Value Setting Job Group, usually the Executive. In other words, the Competencies perceived as important to the selected Job Group are compared to the competencies defined as important to the organization by the Value Setting Job Group.
